Hi Everyone,

Been a long time lurker on these forums. I have a MB owner for years but as me and the wife are are having our first child soon and we are in the market for an SUV. Was looking at the M-Class and even the GLK (all CPO models) but saw the local dealer had a 2007 GL 450 in great shape for a little over 32k. Clean Carfax and certified. Has around 48k miles. Are there any issues with this model year or model in general that I should be aware of? Any thoughts/suggestions as to what to look for? Is this even a good deal? (dealer claims 2k under bluebook). Also want to add that this car would mainly be a weekend/family travel car. It would not be an everyday commuter if we bought it. Thanks in advance!

You may want to see a copy of the vehicle "data card" which lists all of the options (by number) and/or a copy of the "VMI" (Vehicle Master Inquiry) which shows the repair history and warranty work. Is the vehicle a "Mercedes Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO)" vehicle or a dealer "certified" vehicle? Good luck.

Take a look at Carfax. This vehicle was serviced every 2-3 thousand miles. I'd ask the dealer to show the service/repairs print out history report from their computer. What have they done every 2K miles ?

Think hard about a warranty extension through MB. I've gotten my money back at least 3X on mine so far in 2 years of ownership. Great vehicle, but they do have problems.

Aeg, Yes I also noticed it was serviced every 3k and was very curious about that as well.
