my lug nuts are rusting so often, changed twice, the rust spoiling the look of my alloys. i have decided to put lugnut covers similar to ones on audi's (grey colored caps).

anyone used lugnut covers?

Get aftermarket bolts.

Covers will only retain water and accelerate rust (which will leak past the covers anyway and makes things ugly)

I paint mine with a small brush and silver model airplane paint about twice a year. Works great.

they look great. do they fit on wheel lock bolt as well? do you have wheel lock?

I do not have a wheel lock.

I will try one on another vehicle that does to see what happens.

Buy chrome wheel bolts from Discount/America's tire. They were inexpensive (~$3 ea) and haven't faded or rusted like factory

Sorry to bring this thread back to life but this is such a great and inexpensive idea and I'm thinking of going this route for my rusty lug nuts! What type of paint would you recommend? Acrylic or enamel? Thanks for any reply!!
