Service Indicator Reset & CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ???- Need HELP
Hi,
Per Schedule B, I got the Oil change and Brake fluid flush done on 2008 GL450 today at a local mechanic. But the mechanic forgot to rest the service indicator. I exceeded 450 miles for Schd B and not sure if that is the issue but after driving for 50 miles after the service, I got CHECK ENGINE light. I heard if we reset the service indicator, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT would goaway. In the process of resetting Serv Indicator, I screwed up something and the COMMAND now says Schd B service exceeds 8633 miles instead of 450 miles as earlier. How to fix this MESS...
...pls help ASAP...
By the way my GL has 35k miles on it now.

Check engine and service indicator are not related ie resetting one does not reset the other.
I have no idea what you did that caused the 8k miles overdue message.
Flow the directions found elsewhere here to reset the indicator again and see if the mess goes away.
