Got my '13 GL550 last week...looking for Renntech ECU Info
Greetings,
First post here. Just picked up my '13 GL550 last Sunday and already have 1200 miles on it. Really nice car. Interesting how my tastes are changing (coming from '08 M5).
Anyone know of a real link with specs on the Renntech ecu upgrade? Even Renntech's site doesn't have specs on the '13 but it seems many people know details of it. I haven't spent all that much time searching yet, probably 10mins, but I'm new to the GL space and my MB search 'foo' is not yet refined.

Please edit your info to show your location. (It'll better assist us members finding info for you of potential dealers etc.)
Doesn't Renntech show the performance increase to 530hp and 6xx lb ft?

Updated profile...thanks for the suggestion.
Yes, I see that now...duh. I erroneously clicked on the GL 164 and then tried searched the site. The site search returned nothing so I stopped looking. It was right there the whole time. Working on a project (another overnighter) and just took a break for a few minutes looking for this.
Has anyone here installed one yet? $2740 for a tune is pretty steep.

Redii, welcome to the forum. You'll soon find out that humor, sarcasm and irony are common on the forum. The pictures routine started in 2007 when the vehicle was first starting to be introduced.
Post them in the picture thread sticky at the top of the list.
Congrats on the new vehicle.

You're gonna feel a difference once the Twin Turbo V8 has been tuned. It's going to be hilarious when you're carrying 5+ passengers and you just smoked that low end Mustang or Camaro.

Renntech does have the specs listed for the 2013 on their site. http://www.renntechmercedes.com/www/node/1056
You can usually find a Renntech dealer to sell you the tune at a discount.

Redii,
Did you ever get you GL450 tuned by either Renntech or OE? I have a CLS63 that I had tuned by Renntech and I can tell you that their performance and reliability is second to none and more power that advertised.
I am actually getting rid of the CLS63 and ordering a GL450 in the next month because my wife is expecting twins in May and three car seats don't work with the CLS. It will be a sad day to get rid of the CLS because this is one amazing machine and quite a head turning but time for family practicality.
I was really happy to learn today that Renntech has already had their tune out for the GL450 and it increases HP from 362 to 530 and torque to 606lbs ! That is incredible and will put it up in line with the GL63 in performance.
Has anyone had their GL450 tuned yet?
