Advice on Selling my GL?
I think I'm ready to sell my 2007 GL320 with 39,900 miles with 1.5 years of MB Ext. Warranty still left. It's been the best car i've ever owned by far, and has had NO ISSUES whatsoever except for the blown turbo hose recall the first month of my ownership. Ready for the 2013!
I wonder if any of you have advice on the best venue for a sale-ebay seems like a pain? What about craigslist or cars.com? I could spend several hundred dollars listing everywhere, but don't want to do that.
Thanks in advance

I have always traded mine to avoid the sales tax, the advertising cost, the hassle of meeting people, having it clean, etc. so I'm no help there. It's close to $2000 in real money, plus the value you place on your time.
But when looking to buy cars I find myself going to autotrader.com the most. I like it's ability to search on a lot of different factors.

I'm also using autotrader.com for my searches. When I was selling my X5 I put it there and sold it in 2 weeks. The fee was about $99 until it's sold. Second person that came to my house got it. It was easy. Your car is low mileage, so it should be sold easily. Is it true that MB extended warranty not transferable ?

autotrader and call it a day.
but most importantly- price it right. i see most people start with unrealistic expectations and it takes a long time to adjust the price to where it is actionable. all the while the value of the vehicle is diminishing every month and the stress level of the seller is increasing.
set your expectations correctly, price it right and be done inside 30 days.
or trade it in, lose a few grand and call it a day.
if you need general guidelines your truck assuming "average" condition (which statistically speaking prolly is) and package 1 is priced as follows:
trade in- 25-26k
private sale - 31-32k
give or take. those are not listing numbers but actionable numbers (ie at those numbers things happen).
your truck is a desirable truck so if i was you i would sell it privately.

Thanks-sounds like AutoTrader it is. Yes, the MB warranty is transferable. I too have always traded, but i do think my car is desirable (all available options including leather but distronic) and i have babied it since it was new. Therefore i hate to think i'm leaving cash on the table. Dealer offered $30 trade.

You can easily sell it for $35K-$37K. Here is the example with higher mileage and the lowert price on autotrader :

7k is a good chunk of money for a little bit of selling you can do yourself.

Carpersn, keep us informed on your progress with your ultimate sale of your 07 GL 320 and your price negotiations with your 2013. I am in your exact position, with my car at 61,000 with no issues with problems with the car. I too plan to buy a new 2013 in Florida sometime in the next 2-3 month.

I sold my last four cars on autotrader. Fairly simple, but as was said above, PRICE sells cars.
Over priced, you will never get a call, under priced and you get swapped.

And don't post with cellphone poor quality photo's. Have clean and decluttered car. Lots of shots, inside and out. Make sure the engine is clean. If you can't do that yourself, get it detailed and have someone else take the pictures. If you can stand out from the crowd, your car will sell if priced correctly. Fuzzy pictures in posts, give the impression that you do not care.https://mbworld.org/forums/attachmen...1&d=1350584857https://mbworld.org/forums/attachmen...1&d=1350584983https://mbworld.org/forums/attachmen...1&d=1350585281
