'10 GL450 CPO purchased

Hello to all. I just purchased a 2010 GL450 CPO from MB of Westchester, OH. It has P2, DVDs, etc... I drove to OH all the way from Augusta, GA. It has 43,XXX miles and cost 43,XXX OTD (thus, worthy of the drive). My wife will be the primary driver, as I mainly drive a 2013 Mustang GT. However, I do 99% of the driving on the weekends with the wife and kids, so I will have this at least 2 days out of the week.

I am very impressed with the SUV. It really drives a lot like a car. On my way home from the dealer, I drove through the mountains of Ashville, NC. It handled the windy highway roads at 70+mph with little effort. I was VERY impressed. I also averaged 20.4 mpg (premium). We also considered a new X5 (too small) and the '11 QX56 (nice- but, yawn).

Here are a few pictures, sorry for the awful android quality:

Thanks to all. Weird thing happened last night/this morning. the gas tank was very low when I went to bed last night. When I woke up, the needle was higher (which I didn't notice at first). Is there a reserve tank that activates/opens when you are about to run out of gas? I've never seen this before. I don't think a neighbor would tamper with my gas tank...

BTW, I took the family to the Disney on Ice for our daughters' birthdays (4 days apart). I entered the arena parking lot and the attendant informed me there is a VIP parking area up front. So, I parked along a bunch of MBs (to include a '13 GL. SICK) as the parkers from far away gawked in passing. Sorry to sound like a newb, but it was pretty darn cool. I only had this once in my Lexus at a mall that had free valet for owners.

I like the valet story! That's awesome. I've had similar 'service' at a casino in St. Louis. We planned to stay there just for the night. I pulled up to the hotel entrance to unpack the bags and check in. The valet guy came over to me and said they are expecting an ice storm and he would be willing to baby my GL and leave it under the covered entrance all night. How could I refuse? ;-)

Jim, that is an awesome story.

Why do people bash the MB-Tex interior? That stuff is tough as nails. It's crazy how much wear it can endure. Our seats look like they've never been used. Literally. I'm guessing my dash won't crack with the hot GA summers here in Augusta. I know MB is always ahead of their time, but does anyone on here think is the the future of car interior? I know VW and BMW use it as well.

I am noticing excessive brake dust, which I would imagine is common with MBs. However, this stuff is tough as nails to clean off. I have to spray a strong degreaser just to get the "dust" off. If I use a dry or damp cloth, the brake dust seems to smudge (as a dab or wet chewing gum might if you tried wiping it up), as opposed to disappearing into the fibers of the cloth. Strange.
