Need Help With Phone Pairing 2007 GL320 CDI

Hi All,

I was wondering how do you pair a Blackberry to a Mercedes 2007 GL320. I want to pair my phone to my car via Bluetooth. How do I turn on the bluetooth for this vehicle?

I have looked on youtube for videos and have found that by pressing the system button it is very easy to do. Unfortunately, I don't have a system button located anywhere.

When I press the phone button, it just says "phone not inserted". Does this mean I need to buy some sort of system?

Any advice would be helpful!

Thank you!

Little Miss

Do you know if your GL is wired for BT? Look in the center console for what is called a puck. It will look sort of like a TV remote control. If it's not there, you will need to get one. That is what will make your GL work with BT, if it is prewired.
If you are unsure, you can call your local dealer, give them the vin, and they should be able to tell you if it is prewired.

Awesome!

Thank you so much for the help. In my console it looks like there is supposed to be a "puck" there.

Thank you so much! I am going to call the dealership and ask how to buy one!

Before you buy it from a dealer - try Classified section on this forum. You may find it there a lot cheaper. Ask your dealer a part number.

Don't bother with the dealer unless you're more than happy to pay them $250+ for the puck. You can find them on eBay for ~$100 if you look hard enough.

But basically get the puck, insert it into the armrest (assuming your care is prewired for it) and then press "TEL" on the Command. Now hold down the "Mercedes-Benz Star" on the bluetooth puck while searching for bluetooth devices on your phone. Then enter the code which should be "MBUSA (in numbers)" on your phone and it should then pair.

Even after you get the puck I'd say you'd be lucky to get a Blackberry synched. They're a bit of a special case.

My 2007 worked well with my blackberry. It read the address book etc just fine. Now, that was probably BB OS4 or OS5 and not OS10 or whatever they are at now. Also the 2007 bluetooth was limited. When I went to Android I lost the ability to read contacts.
