GL320 Check engine light...any idea what it could be?

Last week th CEL came on when on the freeway. It persisted for a few hundred more miles then disappeared. Now the light has returned. All the while my '09 Bluetec has been driving perfectly normal and I haven't had time to take it by the dealership (50k w/extended warranty).

Any blind ideas on what could be causing the CEL based on the above symptoms or lack thereof?

Headed to Tahoe for the weekend, and would prefer to take the GL instead of my truck, but won't be able to visit the dealer til next week. Trying to determine if it's a good idea or not. Thx for any insight!

No idea what it could be, BUT if you've ignored a CEL and then experience a major engine malfunction; MB might be able to void your warranty. I'd get the car in to your service dept ASAP.

If you still have mbrace activated you could see if they could read the code and tell you what it is.

Go to Autozone or similar. They check codes for free.

Took it bynthe dealer, and CEL is caused by a faulty glow plug control unit (works fine most of the time, but has sporadic hiccups). Going to be taking it in next week after the trip.

Unfortunately, auto zone will not read codes in Cali
