Oil drain plug access
Can anyone tell me which panel I need to remove underneath to get to the oil drain plug on a 2008 320 CDI? I assume standard or metric socket for the oil plug and not some torx or funky bolt head? Attempting my first try at doing the oil change & don't really wanna use oil extractor via dipstick. TIA.

its most likley the second panel from the front, i just changed the oil on my e63 and had to remove this panel to access the oil pan. 8mm socket for the pan bolts and maybe a 13mm for the drain plug
good luck nothing hard about it

German cars have crush washers under the drain plug and these are replaced every time they are removed. Have one on hand before you start.

Just confirmed this weekend that it is the front panel you have to remove to access oil drain plug. Didn't even need to lift the vehicle. It was a messy chore mainly cuz of stupid felt padding around the oil pan partially covering the opening and soaking up oil. I got a Fumoto plug on order to simplify and keep it clean for future oil changes.
