Placing car in Park
Hi, I noticed that if you switch off the car, the transmission automatically goes into Park mode.
Is this a standard feature as its not listed in the manual.

It is an option configurable in das.

When "off" you will get red alarm in the dash and "vehicle not in park" message

Don't have option in dash.

das - as in mb diagnostic software and multiplexer. the shop tool used to "talk" to the car scan codes and troubleshoot problems.

Can I just ask my dealership to turn that on, next time I have it in for service, or do they frown on setting options other than the default?

it depends on the dealer... some will do, some will not. will not hurt asking anyway.
