Switched Power under Right Dash
I am, looking for a switched power (Either ignition or Accessory) under the right dash.
I want to add a relay to switch the accessory power outlet to be similar to the dash power outlet.
Anyone know of an easy to get to wire, or maybe know the color code for that circuit?

I found my solution.
The power to the glove box light is switched.
I added a relay to control power to the outlet and tapped the glove box light feed to drive the relay.
I added a switch across the relay to return the outlet to "always on".
So now I have the best of both worlds.
(And don't have to keep the ashtray open all the time to plug in a cell phone charger or radar detector.)

'09 GL320 and a small fleet of motorcycles
N_Jay, thanks for posting this. Day one owning a GL, and I'm already annoyed by the lack of power outlets up front. My Jeep had more power up front than the GL does.
I am mysteriously missing the power outlet under the passenger dash that many people seem to be having, so I was researching switched power so I could create a solution to this problem. Looks like you've already got it all figured out, and you just made my job a lot easier. Thanks!

Are you sure yours does not have it?
It is fairly far under.
Does anyone know if it was deleted in '09?
By the way, if the outlet is missing you can get always on power on the right hand side of the glove box.
Either tap a fuse or buy the pins and install an extra fuse.
