2009 gl diesel oil leak

So this weekend I notice an oil leak under the car. I take off the plastic underneath and its fairly wet with oil and it looks like oil splashed around a bit and was all over the underside of the torque converter.

Look like it dripped down from above, slightly on the drivers side. I can't see any further up. Looking from the top down I can't see any oil either.

Any one know of any common problems?

Car is going to the dealership tomorrow. This will be my first visit for repairs to an Ideal fine car dealership... I'm sure I'm in for a rude awakening...

It is one of three things- in order of likelihood:

1. Turbo to airboxes seal
2. Oil plugs in the back of the engine
3. Rear main seal

It could be other less likely things though. Let us know.

after 3 trips to the dealer my wife's 09 ML diesel's oil leak was found to be a defective oil cooler. not an easy fix because of its location.

Our 08 had the oil leak--oil cooler. Some of the oil was draining into the bell housing. 19 labor hours to remove the trans, clean and replace all paid by extended warranty

Yes I know this is the GL forum, but since we are talking Bluetec oil leaks, my ML is in the shop for an oil cooler leak as I write. It is being done under a "good will" warranty repair because the car is less than 4 years but over 50K mikes. It sounds like MB is aware of the problem and taking care of it on a case by case basis. Good thing I bought the 7 year, 100K extended warranty for the GL on the other side of the garage.
