Unhappy Rear Lights

Hi, I keep getting warning messages that the signal bulbs are out, or the brake light bulbs are out or license bulbs are out. However all bulbs appear okay. Sometimes the lights will work, however during a journey, all the rear lights will not work. (not very safe).

At present all rear lights are not working, but warning messages just say brake light bulbs are out, once I press the brake

Only affecting rear lights

Any ideas please as it's driving me crazy.
I've checked the bulb holders and they seem fine with no rust.

Is it the rear SAM?

2011 GL450, '06 R500 traded, '08 ML350 sold
Not sure if this is relevant but the R class models between 2006-2007 all had a faulty wiring harness that caused the malfunction you describe. I had a R500 that exhibited similar symptoms. The wiring harness was replaced under a service bulletin by the dealer free of charge. I wonder if the same occurred on GLs of the same era. I would simply call the local dealer before dealing with the SAM.

2008 Mercedes GL 320 CDI
I have a 2008 GL with similar problem except that the left turn signal today now stayed on even of ignition off with key out, seems like problem started after a hard rain. Did u ever figure out your issue or anyone have thoughts?

Thx

Hi I sold my GL, too many problems. I believe the rear SAM is the problem. It gets wet and shorts out.
