Hi All,

My GL 350 is the Canadian Avantgarde Edition, with 21" AMG wheels, and it came with bottle of goop and compressor - no spare due to Bluetec.

Traveled twice to Florida with no flats but I do not want to take a chance anymore, so I was thinking of purchasing a Temporary Spare (space saver) wheel and tire, but do they come in different sizes ? If not, would it be OK to use a 19" temporary spare ? Have Airmatic if it matters.

Any other suggestions ?

What matters is the rolling diameter of the wheel and tire combination.

My guess is the outer (rolling) diameter of all the standard wheel/tire combinations is close to the same, and would work with the same size spare.

I will check the outer diameter at the dealer and compare with the 21" wheels.

It's a long shot but did you buy the spare? I got an AMG black 19" spare that fits the GL.

Yes, I bought a temp spare in Florida about a month ago. New from Dealer. Purchase was triggered by friends having an un-repairable flat while driving at night on Alligator (!) Alley and saved by having a temp spare. My temp takes up room inside the trunk but having the spare is more important for me. Thanks for asking.
