Remove Driver's Knee (Ignition) Panel
Hi all. I've got a 2012 GL 350 and I'm going to be installing a trailer brake controller to tow my race trailer. I pulled the lower panel down by the pedals to check for the connector that I need and found it, but also got a bit of a surprise. The previous owner had installed a high-end remote starter on this vehicle (Drone is the manufacturer and it uses a mobile app instead of a key fob) and they had used the trailer brake connector to get power (it was installed at a dealership out of state.)
So this remote starter is something that I will never use and I want to remove it but it's wired into the Start button and I can't see much up there. I want to remove the knee/ignition panel and it's not super-obvious how it comes off. I don't want to break anything so I'm hoping somebody can tell me how this is attached before I dig in and figure it out myself. I'm a very good mechanic, but I tend to crack/break plastic bits and I don't want to mess up the perfect interior on this truck.
Thanks
