Residual heat/cool - auto
For a third time in a week, I've entered my garage long after shutting off my '10 GL to hear a fan running. When I look inside the car, the residual fan light is lit. I am 100% sure, I'm not pushing the REST button prior to exiting. I searched the manual and there is no mention of the residual fan operating automatically. I searched the forum and found this post stating the car automatically runs the residual fan to keep mold from forming in the HVAC system.

The post is a couple years old - can anyone confirm this is normal vehicle operation and not an issue? The explanation sounds convincing, but this can't be great for battery life...

Mine does that and the explanation seems plausible to me. I'm glad for the feature since I've had other cars with smelly A/C vents and if this prevents that, then I'm both glad and impressed that MB figured out a solution.
I was worried about the battery running down, so hopefully they've thought to make sure that it leaves enough to start the car once it's finished. I wouldn't doubt that they have.

Mine does that as well. Thought I was going something wrong. The only difference is where I live it's fairly dry and it still does that all the time.
Any one else from dry regions all have this or is whatever detects moisture perhaps not functioning properly on mine?
