Mercedes GL450 - transmission code errors - need to update soft
I probably need to replace EHU on Mercedes GL450, 2007. The gear box is 722.9. The part number is 0002702600.
One of mechanics suggested to update the soft for the VGS unit first as it can help to resolve the issue.
The error codes are:
0717 (The signal from component Y3/8n1 (Turbine speed sensor (VGS)) is not available.)
0718 (Component Y3/8n1 (Turbine speed sensor (VGS)) is defective.)
I am wondering if anyone has the most recent version of the update for VGS I need to update. I have MB STAR and it will be great to start from here as getting into the replacement of the board is intense. Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Ignore codes if transmission performs as expected. These two codes in particular are present in almost every 7g I have seen.
If you absolutely have to recode/ update - Recoding tranny requires a live version of star (active legitimate/ paid connection to mb servers) which I am guessing you don't have.

I did not have issues for almost month. Then, I had a trip for about 75 hw miles drive. As soon as I needed to exit hw and stop then the tranny stuck in 3rd gear. The issue is gone after restart of the engine. During the city driving I turn on/off car quite frequently. As a result, the issue is not obvious in city. I guess because I turn on/off a lot. Does it tell you anything? Should I still ignore?
I did order the circuit board from parts.com. I got a refusal to sell notice after successful order process. They refused to sell it saying that the part is not for Internet sale.
