DIESEL FUEL SUPPLEMENT-YES--NO???

Has any one used any diesel fuel supplements. I live in Chicago and the winters are below -20f. I have a VW golf TDI diesel and i use power service diesel fuel supplement to prevent the fuel from gelling up. Now i have a 2007 GL320 cdi no bluetec fluid. I read in the MB manual that MB dos not want you to use any fuel supplements ore additives. ( MB manual says that it can damage the emissions system ). I know some people that use it on powerstrok/ duramax/cummins trucks, and its ok . HAS ANY ONE USED ANY ADDITIVES ON THERE BLUETEC/CDI SUV'S? If so what kid ?

I've used one bottle of injector cleaner from amsoil last winter. I haven't noticed any difference so I never bothered with it again. I'm located 200mi north of you and never had any gelling up issues. But I usually fill up where semi-trucks fill up. Those stations have fresh fuel all the time.
