2007 GL 450
Warranty

I'm debating whether or not to purchase warranty from a local Mercedes Benz dealer which will cover everything the original warranty cover but will only last 3 years. This will cost about $5000 but I think it may be beneficial in the long run especially that my SUV is a 2007 at 69K+ miles and all the "horror stories" about the GL 450. Any opinions or feedback would be appreciated.

My GL has been pretty reliable. Things that will go wrong with your GL. All of the air struts will fail in the next 70k miles if they are original. Your turbine speed sensor in the transmission will fail. You may suffer from a leaking power steering reservoir or power steering rack. Your cam plugs will fail. If there is no deductable, it would probably come out about even with what you would pay for the repairs at an indy.

How many miles does it cover?

How many will you be putting on in the next 3 years?
