Rear Airmatic Leaking intermittently
My 08 GL rear sometime is down and sometimes its fine. Heard a hissing noise yesterday from the year and 30 minutes or so later is was down. Pumped back up and was fine the rest of the day....no hissing sounds. This has been going on for a few weeks. Sometime down over night and other time it stays inflated.
Is this typically a blow air bag on the shock (being that its intermittent)?
Thanks....

I've had the same issue with my 08 CDI as well...going on 4 months now. It drives me nuts! Every time I go to my neighbors shop with Arnott in hand, the bag is perfect. Right now, the right rear is completely deflated.

My rears both go down...at the same time. Just want to make sure its not something the computer is doing by trying to autolevel or something else? The bags are cheap and easy to put in (from what I have been reading).

I installed an Arnott bag on my saggy rt rear this morning. I'll let you all know tomorrow if that fixed my intermittent sag. Nobody likes a saggy rear!

New Arnott rear spring fixed my intermittent air leaks. Been 2 days and all is good!

Can anyone explain how a leaky air bag can leak some of the time?
For example: If there is a pin hole in a balloon, it leaks consistantly everytime air is added....
My wifes GL does the one side rear sag every once in a while. Drives me nuts!

Ambient temp cooling, like tires in cold weather. I'm no mechanic, but think of a bad seal between tire and rim. It's inflated enough to keep contact when warm or being pumped, but them it cools off and begins to lose firm contact between lip and rim. Bottom line is, who knows. Rubber shrinks and hardens with time. Cold air makes it worse. Mine did it maybe one morning out of 7, 4 weeks in a row before I realized they were bad. The correct answer is replace before you burn out the compressor

Will, I wish that was the case, but temp has little bearing on the randomness of our rear bag...lol
Im in south Texas where it did it 3 days in a row with temps in the 70-80's last week, then it dropped overnight Friday when we dipped into the 40, but stayed up Sat, Sun, Monday while we had 30 degree mornings.
Its so random, that is why i was thinking outside of the bag so to speak...lol
I will take your advice and just replace the bag though, cheap insurance.

replace both bags. the stocks will fail sooner or later.
if that still does not fix your problem - look for pinched lines in the rear. if nothing is found - star/das should be used to activate each bag and check valve block for holding pressure. most of the time you will find a hose pinched/ cracked, but if not - the valve block has gone bad
