2008 cls550
new member - hello!
just picked up a lease return 2011 gl550 with 34k miles last week. black on black. the 21" amg rims have also been blacked out.
the baby's at the dealership, getting a bunch of warranty work done. there were all kinds of warning lights and errors showing up and fletcher jones in fremont is taking care of me, getting it back in order.
i need new tires on the gl, and the selection of 21" tires at 295/40/21 is miserable. instead of dropping $1600 on tires that will only last 16k miles, i'm going to look at 22" or 20" replacements, where i'll have longer-lasting and cheaper options. 22's are heavy though, and i'm leaning towards 20" even though they i'd be downsizing by 1" (gasp!).
i'm going to be selling my 2008 diamond-white edition cls550 soon, once we get the wife into the gl. i'll put it up next week or so if someone in the inner circle doesn't stake their claim.

I doubt you'll see any performance degradation moving down an inch and wouldn't worry about it. Improving the choice in tires is more important and it's very hard to discern the difference on such a large wheel anyway.
