sigh...
my son was using my '07 GL450 this afternoon.
He was making a left turn from a dead stop with no one coming in his lane when the guy on the opposite side of the intersection decided to make the straight run through the intersection from the designated left turning lane.
Hit the GL hard enough in the nose to spin it around into a telephone phone.
Fortunately my son and our 8 month old puppy are OK.
Now we wait to find out how bad the damage is and if it will be totaled.
Only had it for 6 months.

For all the crap these cars give us, and the failed expectations for engineering, the cost of ownership, the overhyped BS...this is precisely the reason I have my daughter driving one. When some idiot hits her, or (more likely) she hits someone else, I want her to walk away from the telephone pole. You have one more thanksgiving item on the table, now. The car did its job.

Side view
And front view
Got it to the body shop today.
Passenger front wheel has moved 5-6 inches backwards...
Shop boss gave it cursury look and said if the top frame rail is bent they tend to total it out.
Not looking promising.

I had done some quick mental math.
radiator, transmission oil cooler, AC evaporator, steering rack, tie rod ends, control arms, shock, front end upright, fender, hood, grill, HID lights... and the list goes on.
As expected the vehicle is a total.
now starts the quest of finding the suitable replacement for it. ugh.
