What MP3 formats does the COMAND supports?

What MP3 formats does the COMAND supports?
Good day everyone,
I have a 2008 GL450 and I want to know what MP3 formats does the in-dash CD COMAND supports. I seems that is has problems playing 192 Kb and above or 128 with VBR. Sometimes I turn on the audio and they work right of the bat and sometimes when changing to those tracks it displays the name of the song and the seconds are running like it is playing but no audio whatsoever. Anyone know what MP3 formats are supported?
Also, I never tried, does the multi-box inside the globe compartment is able to play MP3 CDs?
