Anyone in SoCal able to install Seicane radio?

seicane radio
I don't live in SoCal (I'm in Fl), but it really is not that difficult to install. It realm is a plug a play install. I purchased this stereo and couldn't be happier about the purchase. It gave me everything the OEM didn't have, specifically A2DP to stream music. I also installed RES headrests that I found on eBay which connect directly to the system. Not only does the stereo play iPod movies, but it also has a Micro SD slot that I use primarily to play movies for the kids. If u need a walk through of the install just PM me. I'll help u as much as I can.

Got any pics of your install? I was considering the Seicane until I saw the Pioneer - Apple Carplay that reached the market recently. The OEM look of the Seicane looks very enticing however. My only concern is the quality.

I was browsing the internet and found seicane on youtube as well. Will harman kardon still work with the head unit and will the video play on the stock video headrests on gl550 as well? how about the 6 cd changer. This looks like a great alternative than getting viseeo and or puck.

Seicane is a horrible company. My 9" android head unit had a bad antenna adapter. The DVD player failed shortly after installation. Their only response is to keep giving me BS troubleshooting tips we've already exhausted or send it back to China for service. Now they won't even do that, not that I want a hole in my dash for 3 months. They're just telling me to get it repaired locally. Of course I can't, all I can do is replace the DVD player which I will and live with terrible radio reception. Will just have to stream which works. Even if you get all working parts from Seicane, which is doubtful, it's feeding the troll. Odds are you will have have some sort of hassle with them. Rennlist is littered with reports of bad CANBUS adapters, too. Would have been better of going Alpine from the beginning and probably will replace this POS in a year or two. Don't walk, RUN, from Seicane.

It's been about 9 months of ordeal with Seicane, so had to refresh my memory. Checking the Alpine website, doesn't look like the 8" unit is produced anymore, all 7" now. Here's a link to the current lineup http://alpine-usa.com/product/catego...its-head-units.

I'm only chiming in because it's fun to look at options for replacements. Currently, I like the stock unit and it's working well... knock on wood.
Just my opinion of course (as is all of this kind of stuff)... but for the ones that Jason posted in post #10 & #11...
1) The screen looks like a nice size. But the buttons seem a little oversize - especially the volume and track change. And two of the buttons are "highlighted"... that doesn't look good.
2) Hard to tell because the pic is dark, but it appears nice.
3) This one definitely looks like a "cheap" aftermarket. It doesn't blend well with the rest of the dash - the face plate is too big (because the screen is too small).
