New Infotainment options?

hi Guys, just saw these on Ebay and other sites, I wanted to ask if anyone has installed something similar on their GL's I have the 2012 bluetech, I dont think there is a difference as long as it is X164. I really hate the OEM system and want to do a Office Space printer number on it when i take it out :-) but i want to make sure i will not be loosing any functionality. a big question is whether the new system can interface with any amps etc. any feedback is appreciated. here are some links to the offerings:

I will bump this to the top as I want to know as well. I've seen what you've posted online recently, and one brand came with mixed reviews (Chinese crap, potentially)

I would like something that looks OEM, or as damn-close to OEM as possible, that will work with the HK speakers, maintain as much if not all OEM functionality as possible, but with upgraded capabilities beyond the OEM features, such as wifi/LTE, a browser, and NAV capabilities that are better than the mid-90s Nissan-grade stock

This has been discussed in another thread with most of us waiting for the first "beta tester" to take the plunge and report back.

I've talked to a local stereo installer about aftermarket options to our OEM head units and I mentioned the Pioneers with Apple Car Play. They expressed their concerns about the "fiber optics connected to the amps" being a common obstacle.

More and more manufactures are making it very difficult to go aftermarket. I suspect the Benz set up is a total PITA if someone were to take it on.

I too have thought about this, but the wife would string me up by the short hair. I also have the rear DVD which is factory and integrated into the Command head. I wanted this for the grand kids as it's a drug when they are in the truck. Other wise I'd go nuts!
So it was a must on the want list.

I can live with the current set up but if were in the truck longer during the day something would have to be done real quick!

For what it's worth. I've seen some of the aftermarket radios in the Sprinter vans. They look to be aftermarket double DIN radios? The ones posted here look to fill the OEM hole 100%.

The aftermarket ones also look the part too! The surrounding face plate looks like crap too! Like a last ditch effort to put a radio in.

I surmise they either did not have a radio or very little to begin with for the radio to be added.

In my little corner of the world I would only do this at my last resort in my GL.

I love the picture on the second listing. The numbers on the phone keypad only go to 6! And the letters/words under the numbers don't even match.
