rear hatch doesn't open fully

What's the fix to get the rear hatch to open fully automatically?

are you sure you didn't limit the opening via the cluster settings

cluster settings?

What are the cluster settings and how do I change them?

Am I correct in thinking that the power mechanism only closes the rear hatch and the gas filled, right and left struts opens it and keeps it open?

Check your operating manual, but on my '11 there is a button on the bottom of the lift gate where you push to set a limiter, and push and hold to cancel it.
This is great when you park inside a garage and I use mine all the time, and then cancel it when on a road trip or am otherwise outside.

rear hatch

THANK YOU, THANK YOU. This was driving me nuts. Problem solved.

Now, how do I get the shade for my sunroof to slide independently from the roof? The shade slides forward and back when the sunroof slides forward and back but when the sunroof is closed the shade is closed and it only moves about an inch.
