'07 GL 450 sunroof shade?
My sunroof opens and closes and tilts as it should but with it closed or tilted the shade won't open. The shade slides open when the sunroof opens and it slides shut when the sunroof closes but then I can't slide the shade open.
How do I fix this problem?

Rather than making a new post with the exact same problem, I am going to bump this old post.
I recently purchased a 2007 GL450. Like the original poster, my front sunroof shade will not slide back. It's catching on something. It slides back with the glass when I open the sunroof, but I cannot slide the shade back by hand.
Is there a common problem with this? What do I need to be looking for?
Thank you very much.

Not sure I can help with the issue, other than to say you will probably need to remove trim/headliner to check things out. BUT, are you sure you are using enough force? Mine is stiffer to move than one would expect. Does yours move at all?

I was hoping someone here had ran into this problem before. I guess I'll try to remove it all together to see if I can figure it out. I really don't want to mess with the headliner.

Can you remove it without removing the headliner? Maybe just drop the front of the headliner down?
Do you have a snake camera? I didn't look very closely at mine, yet, but maybe you can sneak a snake back in there to take a look? If you don't have one, here's a good reason to get one!

OK. I have an update. Against my better judgement, I took a small piece of wood and a hammer and tapped the front edge of the sun shade to see if I could get it to go past whatever was blocking it. With just a couple taps it broke free. When I ran it all the way back and closed it, a ton of crushed up dirt dauber nest came out. I suspect the nest had nothing to do with it. I think the shade was just slightly off track.
At any rate, I'm in business. Thanks folks.
