Advice on 255/55 R19 Winter tires
Hi,
Want to get some winter tires for my 19 inch wheels that I believe at 8.5 wide. The Owner’s manual shows a 265/55 size for winter tires (vs 275/55 normal). I have had a quick look and there seems to be very limited options in this size, with Tire Rack offering a Pirelli for $291 each.
If I go with a 255/55 I can get a Blizzack for $152 each, I’m not trying to penny pinch but $560 saving is a lot, and that’s from my local Discount Tire which means free balancing for life, which I like over getting tires from Tire Rack.
There ahve been a few threads on this but nit sure whether anyone is running 255's, So does anyone run 255/55 R19 winter tires?, any issues?

Well I went ahead and purchased 255/55 19 Blizzack's on my standard wheels.
Fit well and look fine, luckily I haven't had to run them yet as we are basking in 80 degree fall weather.
I'll do an update on once I run them,

Just to close this thread out, with the weather changed and I've had these tires on for a week. Work fine, drives great, no issues.
if you have 19's and need winter tires these seems to work just fine, and were a great price.

Blizzak's are FANTASTIC tires. I have them for my old BMW 528 (1997) which is rear wheel drive. I can get through pretty much any snow that's short of being just too deep that it starts plowing. Very impressed with them.
Have you figured out how much your speedo and odometer will be off with the smaller tires? For example, check your speed at a certain highway speed compared to GPS.
