How many Years On Your Battery ?
Hi All, my new to me 2008 320 CDI is about to do it's first winter with me here in southcentral Alaska. The vehicle still has the original battery which was tested at the dealer right before I bought it. Normally with a lead acid battery I'll replace it after 5 years but I'm wondering whether this MB battery had some of the latest agm technology that allows it a longer life span ? How many years do you folks have on your batteries ? Thanks, William

usually I will replace the battery every 4 years weather it needs it or not. Do not want the problem of not starting

Almost 7 years (6.75 I think to be more exact) on an original battery. This is from manufacture/delivery date of the vehicle to original owner.
It worked fine one day and was dead as a doornail the next. No warning at all.
Replaced it in very very cold temps on a driveway. Should have done it earlier in a heated garage!
Replace after 6 years. If vehicle is 2009 or older, I'd replace BEFORE this winter. And that's advice for the northern US or Canada(where I happen to be). In Alaska I'd replace far more often!
Replace it now and then every 5th year (in fall).

Found the code
Hi, big thanks to everyone for their input. When I got into the battery compartment with a good light I found the the battery was manufactured in February of 2012 so for right now I'm very comfortable leaving it in for the winter. Thanks again, Bill
