Just bought a used 2009 GL550.

Car is in excellent condition with 69k miles. I am wondering if I should get a 3rd party extended warranty.

Any suggestions?

I got a quote for 3300 for 36 months 36k miles.

My experience is 3rd party warranties are junk. Very hard to get your money's worth out of them. You're better off setting aside the $3300 and learning everything you can about the weak points of the vehicle.

Thanks Eric, yeah I guess that's my conclusion. Issue is the high mileage, so they only would give me a 36k policy and if I wanted an all inclusive from Mercedes (via 3rd party) its 16k... so crazy expensive.
I am reading the 3300 warranty today in detail for coverage. My mechanic is doing a service today and is inspecting the whole thing so at least I know where I am at.. I may just go for luck here.

Yeah, don't send the cash to the company. Just try not to spend it on beer and hookers instead.
