backup camera replacement not covered under CPO?
Had the SUV in for dealer service. Intermittent issues with backup camera going dark during reverse every now and then. Diagnosed open circuit issue, need to replace camera. Dealer admin checked on item # and says MBUSA doesn't cover under CPO. Price to replace, $1400 (no, thank you).
I called MBUSA and opened a claim to have this validated. Can't quite see how an integral, non-wear & team item like this would not be covered under CPO -- first such experience with a German luxury CPO vehicle (granted, first MB purchase for me, coming to the brand from decades of Audi ownership).
Anyone else has had a similar experience?

Also surprised it would not be covered.
If it turns out to not be covered, I would for sure clean the connectors on the wiring harnesses from the truck to the modulator, and from the modulator to the camera and see if that fixes the problem. Intermittent connectivity could easily be a loose or oxidized connection. The dealer is always going to just replace parts rather than fix.
I did a quick lookup on-line, and it looks like there are two parts involved if something is indeed failing - there is a modulator which is about a $100 part, and the camera itself is a roughly $600 part. Which is just so ridiculous, but it's mercedes.
