Bluetooth Puck & Contact Plate Help
I just bought a 07 GL450. It has the Command system with NAV. The car didn't have a contact plate but was pre wired for one. I purchased one and a puck. Installed both and don't seem to have power going to it. I tested for power with a test light. The car does have tele aid but its not active. The buttons for it try to connect the call but won't go through. Am I missing here something here? I have checked all the fuses. I also found that the car had the iPod connect in the glovebox but after further inspection it turns out that it is not connected. I took the lower bottom off the glovebox and the other end was just hanging there. Where does this connect? Any help would be greatly appreciated I really don't want to go to the dealer and I'm already in $300 for the parts I have already bought.
Thanks

My '07 320 has the Bluetooth widget installed but even though I've pressed buttons on it I've failed to make it connect. I don't really care unless I would be able to stream Pandora through the stereo and I highly doubt that.

Did you buy a MHI or UHI connector? They look the same but may not be cross-compatible. You may also need to have the Comand coded for it.

If I remember correctly based on some posts I've read, I believe the iPod connects behind the Command unit. You can search on this website, though, to double check me.
Could some of the pieces/electronics (under the middle row seat) be missing or non-operative? It might be best to get it diagnosed through a dealer, or someone with the proper diagnostic equipment, anyways. It would probably save you a bunch of money in the long run. You don't necessarily have to have them fix it, but at least pay them to tell you what's wrong.
