Another Year, Another Grand
It was time to get the truck serviced, and I was fearing the worst. So much so that I began looking for a replacement vehicle, believing that the total cost would be well beyond what I was willing to put into an 8 year old vehicle. I knew the turbo seals and sway bar links needed to be replaced, and the dealer had already quoted me $1500 for the work. And that was all before anyone looked at the oil cooler.
Fortunately, it turns out the dealer charging anywhere from 5-10 times as much as my indy, so for $1000 I had the following completed:
-Major Service
-Break fluid flush
-Replace turbo seals
-Replace sway bar links
-Replace fuel filter
Considering I was preparing to pay much, much more, I'm very relieved. I know $1000 is not a cheap bill by any means, but considering what I paid last year in repairs, I was very happy. They checked the oil cooler and they said it was ok, so maybe the previous owner already had it replaced? I'll keep an eye out.
