oil burner advice?

Replacing the cam housing plugs and the separator had no effect on oil consumption, i.e. still consumes 1 qt/1k miles so I see nothing left to do but to R&R the valves stem seals. I'd like to know the firing order and how the cylinders are numbered. Maybe it's on a sticker in the engine compartment.

Your firing order question got me curious. i found this on justanswer:



Supposedly a 2008 GL500. Authoritative folks say all MB V8's have the same firing order. The arrow is pointing to the front of the vehicle.

1 5 4 2 6 3 7 8

Why does it matter?
