2010 GL-450 Front End Problems
Now that this model has been out for a little while I am curious if anyone else has had continuous problems with the front end of this SUV? It started with a bad sensor in the steering column around 35k miles, then the sway bar had to be replaced last year due to a knocking noise over speed bumps. Now the steering wheel is cocked to the right after a full alignment. The knocking noise seems to be coming back crawling over bumps at low speeds. I really don't think I can exaggerate this but with brand new front tires in the rain on the interstate it feels like the front end of the SUV is literally ice skating jerking from left to right. I had it in the dealer maybe 10 times in 2 years due to these issues occurring and now that it is out of warranty I am tempted to just get rid of it.

Yep, the knocking noise seems to be quite common but I don't think your other problems are.
I'd find another shop to look at the alignment. When they tell you it is WAY off, get documentation so you can "share it" with your MB Dealer.

Very frustrating.
My 2012 GL450 has a "clunk" noise from the front passenger wheel area, usually when slowly going over speed bumps or holes. They swear they cannot find anything wrong, which makes me furious on a CPO vehicle.

as what was said, the person who did your alignment didn't know what he was doing. This should have been evident when you drove off and the steering wheel was not centered.
