Investigating what I think will turn out into a leak in my air strut, I noticed the right strut had this white collar around it, tightened with a zip tie. The left side does not have this. (photo attached)

The right strut had been replaced by the local dealer a few years ago under warranty. Could this be part of the repair?

i am doing the repair now. my new strut has the white collar while the old one does not.
