Hello. I am considering purchasing a nice used one with 33,000 miles on it and am wondering about the leveling. Can you drive it in the lower position or does it always have to be in the high position? I have never had a car with leveling choices like this and do not understand.

Also, it has the built-in DVD player for the second row seating. Is that an expensive option when someone bought it new? I have read either people love them or hate them. I guess it depends if you maintain them properly or not. This one is super clean and always maintained by the dealer. Thank you.

You don't want to drive in the raised position unless you are driving off road and going slow.

Yes, RSE was an expensive option. Maintenance has little to do with what typically goes wrong on the GL. Many parts will fail regardless.

2007 with 33k miles? This is like 3k miles per year. Wow.

You can't mess up the the air suspension. It automatically disables the raised suspension above a certain speed, and it automatically lowers the car further above a certain higher speed.

But definitely only use the raised suspension when you want it, like driving over a median island to scare people.

Yes, 33k miles. It appears to be garage kept and maintained by the dealer. I am trading/selling my 2005 E320cdi and my 2007 RX Lexus to downsize (if you call this truck that) and just have one car with one insurance and one oil/maintenance to deal with. It is a lot of car for one person, but I really like the looks of it.

Great sounding vehicle, if the price is good, I'd say get it! Beats a mini van!

We recently bought a similar '07 with ~44k miles on it... and LOVE it! The three months we have had it so far have racked up 3,000 miles all drama-free. Original owners kept up on maintenance @ dealer and indy, and only real problems were a battery, rear shocks, and a trans fluid leak that was fixed w/ a new pan gasket.

We did have one leaking rear shock that was replaced by the seller (a dealer) upon arrival. Going w/out an extended warranty, as most of the typical work I can do (I hope!), and have a good indy to do the rest (intake manifold, trans) as needed. I might even take on the manifold if it goes bad when I have a lot of time on my hands.

I can do all the brakes, suspension and steering work, cooling system, and a decent bit of engine work if diagnosed properly. I wouldn't know where to begin with electrical stuff beyond the upgrading to LED bulbs I just did!!!

If we can keep it for your years/50k miles w/out major problems, we'll be happy. At that point, won't need the third row as the firstborn will be out of the house, and will have to decide if we keep, or sell for a more reasonable vehicle. Would like to keep longer, and will if it's solid. Most cars we buy around 40k miles and drive till 150k. That includes many Bimmers, but this is our first tri-star product.

So yeah, a very similar situation, figuring if it doesn't work out, we'll just sell it and get something else. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Hey, you never said if you got it and if so how much $$ it set you back.

If you don't mind sharing, that is. I'm trying to help people understand where the value in MB trucks lies. Not new, that's for damn sure.
