Attention assist
2014 GL450. I have the attention assist activated from the main menu, but the coffee cup icon does not appear in the center display in the dash board. Am I missing something?
Thanks

Is there a way to reset it once it comes on, without turning off the car? I can turn it off while driving, but it will come back on again. Kind of like all I did was hit a snooze button.

On my 2013...... IF the attention assist is activated, then a "grayed out" coffee cup is always visible in the DIC.....it lights up and indicates "take a break" when it thinks you need it! Hit "ok" and the warning goes away for 15 minutes.....then it will come back on....it will do this repeatedly until you stop the vehicle and cycle the engine off and on. Normal function.

That's interesting blittle, my 2014 definitely does not show the coffee cup when attention assist is activated. It only pops up when it thinks you are tired. After renting a 2013 X166 from Hertz I did notice several programming differences compared to my 2014. Perhaps there are also changes within the model year.
This is what it says in the 2014 owners manual:
On long journeys, take regular breaks in good
time to allow yourself to rest properly. If you
do not take a break and ATTENTION ASSIST
still detects increasing lapses in
concentration, you will be warned again after
15 minutes at the earliest.
Notice "STILL". Perhaps it lowers the threshold for warning you after the first warning. It goes on to say that it resets the system if you turn off the engine or you unbuckle your seat belt and open the door.

For kicks, I just compared the 2013 and 2014 owners manuals and indeed, there is a programming change. The 2013 manual has a sentence that states that the coffee cup is displayed after the system is activated. The 2014 manual removes that sentence. Both manuals seem to imply that the system will only warn you again if the computer "still" detects you are tired. I would bet the system becomes more sensitive after the first warning and doesn't reset until you shut the engine off or open the door/unbuckle. Perhaps the sensitivity level varies per model year.

post-installation
Hello Everybody!
I have an important question, trust, that somebody can answer me.
So, we have one year old Mercedes Tourismo coaches, without attention assistance, but must post-install it.
As we have been informed, the Mercedes allegedly doesn't install that system additional (but hard to believe), but we need it at all costs.
So, does anybody have any information about how could the attention assistance be post-installed, of course, preferably by Mercedes?
Thank you in advance!
