Active Curve Yes or No?

All, I'm finalizing my GL550 build and am struggling with the Active Curve decision. The vehicle will be for my wife and she's coming out of a 740i and this will be her first SUV and will be our primary kid hauler.

Any thoughts, opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Yep... Order it. Will make the vehicle handle much better than a truck should.

I have active curve on my 2015 GL450 then I know that I will never order a GL without it equipped. The option worths every penny. Try to think about why MB would standardize active curve on GL63.

BTW: better pair it with on/off road package!

My wife's GL550 has it and it does indeed handle really well on those rare occasions when I get to drive it, but I'm guessing she doesn't really notice or care.

It actually helps you all the time.(Not all the "classic"-must-have option would be used that often)

This is a very nice figure to demonstrate that.
Also another figure to explain why it better pair with on/off.

Hope it helps

I've got it on my 550 and I especially like it when I'm in comfort mode. It holds it's body role to a minimum and you can actually feel the system working as you turn.
Why I say that is because as soft as the dampening is in comfort mode it feels like your in sport mode just when your turning. I wouldn't buy another MB SUV without it.
That said, I probably wont have to worry about that too much because this will be my first and last MB. IMO ,the other German cars are put together much better, especially when you're spending $100k on a car.

Well.....I've never had it, so I don't know for sure. What i do know is....I would never have one without the ON/OFF package because each of the GL's I have owned has had THAT and I know what it has done for me when I have needed it.

I got my 550 in September. The curve system malfunctioned twice. It was by the dealer once for 2 days and the second time for a week. They bled the system a few times. The car isn't the same anymore it feels like something is loose in the drives side front axel. It's still making a hissing sound. Is that normal?

Definitely get it ......without it the suv Leans really bad during turns or on curves. With it, it doesn't lean a bit and takes turns like a sports car. Wortb every penny just for safety reasons

To GL55015 - no, it's not "normal" - take back to the dealer - tell them if they do not get it corrected to your satisfaction - that you will them call Mercedes Customer Service to report your issue
