S the title says.. Looking to update my navigation for my 09 GL 320.

I just had installed the brand new navigation update, 3 discs and takes hours and hours to download. They need to get your PIN, then order the DVD's, then download and install.
The update looks great, and finally several new roads have appeared that were not present on my installed version (10/13)

Where did you purchase the update?

And specifically did the user interface and map rendering improve in appearance compared to the original or was it simply an update to the road database?

Since this was my second GL from a local dealer, they did not charge me for the updates. I was told 2015 GLs get the updates gratis.
I have not had time to review the total package, but on quick review, it looks crisper and more detailed than before. I can follow up as I spend more time with it.

The 2015's get three years of annual map updates - which will be done somewhat differently - for 2015's foward - it will be dealer download direct to the vehcile from Navteq "cloud" - although that is not setup yet - should be setup by August. I have been told at this point that earlier models do not have that same "download" capability..

If you mean the maps appear to have more detail than before, can you give an example of what you noticed? Thanks.

Over 1000 miles after update. No problems at all. It seems to be sharper and clearer than the 2 year older version, but unless I could put them side to side this may not be true. The key thing is that roads that were not in the previous version are present now, and the overall presentation is distinct and clear.
