Captains chairs(pass through) for 2015 GL350
My wife and I just had a baby boy and we are looking to have more. I didn't realize how much I need to have captains chairs until now. I know this comes as an option upon ordering, but any idea of how much this will cost to switch out? Where is the best and most affordable place to do this in the Chicago area? Any type of help would be greatly appreciated!

I remember seeing this when I ordered my GL, so I know it's doable.

Let me clarify - Center Arm rest pass Through - is a small plastic "hatch" in the 2nd row armrest cubby that can be unlocked to allow object pass-through - it is not Captain's Chairs.
Captain's Chairs up thru MY2016 are not available in the GL - for the "refreshed" MY2017 there is a engineering discussion if Captain's Chairs (Mercedes engineered to pass Federal crash tests) "might" become available MY17 and after...

The only SUVs that I am aware of that have 2nd row captain chairs are the Yukon/Tahoe/Escalade.
We had them in our Escalade and it really helped access to the 3rd row.

Anymore than two kids and the captains chair becomes an issue.
The third kid means you then must always use the third row and that really limits your cargo holding ability.
Yukon/Denali/escalade was even worse as their 3rd row isn't suitable for anyone over 10. The XL version was like driving a school bus.
Something to keep in mind if 3 kids is in the futre and this is a long term vehicle purchase.

Please note - I can't "promise" Captain's Chairs for MY2017 - the back story - I was on a walking in-motion meeting in Vance - in a small select posse accompanying Steve C**** - and Captain's Chairs happen to come up - and amazingly Steve picked that up and said "when an it be done" - and the German engineering team committed to MY17 - the engineers might figure a way to squeeze out of it regulatory wise - but it's definitely on the working-because-it's-committed table
