2013 GL350 vs. GL550 Ride Quality
I am looking into getting a 2013-2014 GL. Does anyone know if there is a ride quality difference between the two models? Aside from the difference in power/performance, does the GL350 come with active curve system?
Assuming that both will have the same tires (20-21 inch AMG). Does the interior finishes (seats) contribute to ride quality, or are seats the same except for the skin?

I now own a 350 and a 63. The 63 has a completely redesigned AMG suspension, but I've driven a 550 recently as well.
I would say the biggest difference between the 350 and he others I've driven was the Active Curve System. I really regret not getting the ACS on my 350. It is an amazing difference in feel around turns and freeway ramps.
I'd recommend the ACS without hesitation.

The GL550 is a different "class" of GL - I would encourage you to drive one so you can experience the driving feel/handling for your own impression.
The GL350 - as a BlueTech - from the powertrain side has a different torque range/curve than the GL550 - and if you have a opportunity to find/drive one with Active Curve - kindof a rare breed.
Active Curve and Off-Road Suspension are more common owner options in Euro than here in the US - here is the US these options are "very rare" on new stock vehicles - a select few out there - and still "rare" on customer ordered vehicles - frankly US SUV customers consider themselves "very knowledgeable" - but with the "rarity" of each of the two options - very/very few get to experience - and to be frank, most salesperson's not experienced with those two options either

I really like the Bluetech and its efficiency, but the GL350 rarely comes with ACS. And in the US, the AMG body kit is not even available on the GL350. I'm left with a GL550, but I already have a 400+ sedan to run around. Could someone show me a picture of the ACS button? When shopping for a pre-owned vehicle, the sales person typically doesn't know the existence of this ~$2900~ option.

i dont think there is a button for ACS......it just is always working.........i have a button near spin wheel that changes it from comfort to sport but i think that is on all others without ACS.....
