Well....I've joined the club...

Traded in my 2009 GL320 for a lightly used, very well optioned 2014 GL350 with 19K miles.

Specs on the car:

Steel Grey w/ 19" split spoke wheels
Distronic
Parktronic
HK Sound
Black Leather
Message Seats
Rear heated Seats
3 zone climate
Lighting pkg
Lane Change nanny

Took her from the dealer to upstate NY (250miles), got 26mpg

Definately more refined than our X164, but not drastic IMO. I was tempted to wait for the new 2017's, but the deal on this one was too good to pass. Anyway - some observations/questions -

I am getting a TPMS warning, the pressure cold is 35psi front, 39psi rear - anyone know why this would be a warning?

Memory Seat Button - WHY does Benz not allow you to press Mem 1, for example, without having to keep it pressed till it gets into position? my 2009 did this, i just don't see the point of it.

Telematics are a huge improvement over the 2009, can only imagine how much better the 2017's interior gadgets will be

I wish i had running boards - saw there are a few threads but nothing definative with afternmarket boards (i refuse to pay 2K for OEM)

I looked in the trunk for the 110V outlet, saw it was gone. Drove up to NY, thinking they took it out...then was happy to find it under the 2nd row seat this AM - great spot!

I would like to replace the chome cover on the rear bumper - will do some research to see if that's a major task or not

Anyway - Looking forward to being on the X166 forum....

Welcome I believe you can have the dealer reset the tire pressure setting so it does not go off. Mine went off if I was 1 pound below the required pressure. Your tire setting pressure range is on your gas door. Nice looking ride

Regarding having to hold the memory seat button, I actually prefer it to be this way. I used to have an Aura MDX where you just did a single momentary press of the button. If "your" settings were say button 2, and they got reprogrammed, somehow disturbed, or you accidentally pressed the wrong button, while sitting in the seat, you could be pressed up against the steering wheel as the seat moved forward. What else used to happen at times was that the setting were stored to the key. So if my wife (5' 1") unlocked the car w/ her key (or we somehow swapped keys) and then I got into the driver's seat, when I started the car, automatically the seat would move forward and the steering wheel would move downward..

Mem Seat

I get it if someone is in the seat. The car has occupancy sensors so it would be nice if the car knew that ok, a door opened, there is no one sitting int he seat, and someone is pressing the memory button so lets do a 1 touch vs. someone is in the seat and pressing the mem button which should require the continuous touch.

BMW does it the correct way. I'm only assuming that the sensor in the seat is actually there (like for the passenger seat) but who knows.

Recommend that you absolutely use the tire pressures listed on the gas cap cover door. The ones inside the drive door are way off!

Thanks all for the advice. I didn't realize MB left it up to us (owner) to reset the TPMS to the pressure you prefer...I reset to my liking and error/warning lights are gone.
