question about the 7th gear
I have a 2013 GL450 and just realized that when using the shift paddles the car only goes up to the 6th gear.

Does anyone know if this is by design, or are you supposed to be able to shift into 7th?

Yes - by design - pull right paddle 3 secs to return to Auto to give you back 7th..

7th gear should just be 'D' with no numbers... same across the entire MB line.

2015 GL550 2013 ESV Platinum 2008 Hummer H2 LE UM
At high speeds over 50 mph, the transmission is set on 7th gear.

My '15 GL550 does indeed let you have 7 in manual.
