"UPDATE 2/9/2016, 2:10 p.m.: Daimler is recalling some 705,000 Mercedes-Benz cars and 136,000 Daimler vans in the U.S. market because NHTSA has indicated that the vehicles could contain defective Takata-supplied airbags. The Mercedes-Benzes are all from the 2005–2014 model years: SLK, C-class, E-class, M-class, GL-class, R-class, and SLS. The newly recalled vans are 2007–2014 Sprinters with Dodge, Freightliner, or Mercedes badges. (Some 2006–2008 Sprinters had been added to the recall in June 2015.)"

This is a great forum. Thanks for posting up the details. None of the articles included the make and model years and just stated;
Daimler said it had decided to recall approximately 705,000 Mercedes-Benz cars and about 136,000 Daimler vans. It did not immediately respond to a question about which models are being recalled.

My dealer can't find the recall in the system for my 2014 GL450. It also does not register on the MB VIN-based recall search site. I wonder if there are isolated VIN ranges involved or if they just haven't updated the data yet.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Please understand that the "expanded recall" - as it pertains to Daimler - there has been zero injuries reported - the recall has been expanded so that over time - these airbags can be pulled back BEFORE long ways down the road to prevent any potential problems from coming up.
Mercedes does not have full plan yet in place - so there has been zero official update to dealers yet.
Again - there have been zero injuries reported - this is a pre-emptive recall to prevent any future problems.
I would suggest owner's make sure they/their-vehcle are correctly registered on mercedesMe under the Owners Section on the mbusa.com website.
Keep the faith !
