360 camera
I got the 2013 gl450 with parking assist last week and as I begin to explore features I realize the vehicle doesn't have a 360 surround camera.
Did the camera get added mid year to the parking assist feature?
Dealer had listed this as a feature!

I just did a quick search of CPO GL's in TX. Found a 2012 in service Sept 2012 that did NOT have it, and another in service Aug 2013 that DID have it. Our 2014 ML350 has it. According to the build sheet, it part of the Option 996 Park assist showing sub option 501 Surround View Camera. You can likely put your VIN number in one of the search engines offered on this site to see if any of these option codes show up. Happy hunting.

Just looked at this '14 GL and the option code for the 360 camera is the same as my ML, 501. BTW, look at this car. 2.5 years on the road, 23k miles, orig sticker $78,300. Now selling for $52,900. That's a $25,000 drop. As a CPO it'll have 2.5 more years and unlimited miles on the warranty. I love my Hemi Durango but......

MBWorld Fanatic!
No - retrofit not possible...
Yes - in changeover year - there was Parking Assist w/Surround - and when factory did not have surround camera - then Parking Assist w/RVC (rear view camera) priced like $700 less no surround.
The VIN# will pull up exact features factory built.
Keep the beat !

My 2014 GL450 CPO have the same options + parking assist (sticker at $80k) which is why I think the one above is missing the parking assist package with the 360 camera (since you mentioned the sticker was $78k+). Mine had only 16k miles and was just listed for days when I bought it. Dealer would not budge on price but I did pay a reasonable $51k considering the miles. This was about 2 months ago.
There were other used 2014 GL450 I looked at for around $45-$50k, but have too many miles or didn't have all the packages I was looking for.

Where do you see the option code in the link above? Isn't the 360 camera part of parking assist package? There's no mention of either in the description of the vehicle.

Got it. Wasn't showing on mobile Safari. I see it is part of the Parking Assist package as I mentioned but the dealer's website seem to have omitted this fact.
I also notice the difference between mine and this is, I have the leather package vs MB-tex on this which accounts for the price difference. Also, this comes with the illuminated star.
Btw, when the finance guy was sending over the preliminary paperwork, I noticed a curious number referring to trade-in value by the previous owner and it was showing $45k. Talk about scary depreciation from $80k to $45k in about 2-3 years. Maybe the previous owner bought it for 6% off retail. Still a $30k hit and she drove it for 16k miles only.
