SERVICE B2
My 2015 GL350 will soon be ready for service B2 at 40,000 miles. What should I expect to pay for this service and can anyone recommend an alternative to the dealer. Also, I'm wondering exactly what are the minimum services required to maintain the warranty?
Any advice is appreciated.

Service B
I have a 2015 ML350 and just had it serviced at the dealer for the 20,000 service B. What I do is what some people call an ala carte service. I look at what they are supposed to do according to the service manual and then only have them do what I think needs to be done, like change oil, cabin filter, but delete things like check lights in illumination panel, check horn, check windshield wipers, etc. What Below is what I had them do:
change oil
Replace cabin dust filter
replace combination filter
Total cost was 295.05 plus tax, I did not have the tires rotated since I do that myself. But if you don't do it yourself, I would recommend that.
Recommend you call the dealer as ask the total price of a service B and then you can make a decision. Also if you look at your service manual its the 50,000 and 60,000 mile checks which have additional requirements like spark plug replacement and transmission fluid replacement.
To make things more complicated you can pre pay for these services. There are many treads on this site about it. Since the pre pay plan only reference services A and B, some people on get them before these expensive service (50,000 which is " A" and 60,000 which is a "B"
Good luck

Please see the link below - and you can check witrh your dealer with "required" service items - as you have GL350 - your 40K would be A servcice + brake fluid flush + diesel fuel filter (note you can top off DEF on your own before you go in for service:

Now - if you intend to keep past 60K or 70K miles - you can check price for 3-pack or 4-pack prepaid service - note at 70K also requires transmission service
Keep the beat !
