GL350 VALUE
Seems to me that the trade-in/resale value of my 2015 GL350 has tanked since the advent of the VW Scandal. And the GLS diesel is not available in the US. Any thoughts from forum members??

Diesel values have tanked complements of VW. It is unclear whether Mercedes will continue to sell Diesels in the US. The GLS350 still has not been approved for sale in the The USA. Those that have been built for the US market are sitting in Vance VPC awaiting EPA approval if it ever happens.

The biggest recent "hit" for you - is the fact the 17's are now "GLS" - and that now we have gone into calendar 2017 your 2015 is now for-sure/for-sure considered 2yrs old.
1) You can check edmunds.com for a realistic private-sale/trade-value.
2) You can go to mbusa.com Mercedes Certified Section and do a search for retail offering of 2015 CPO GL350's.
Of thesde two tools - #1 edmunds is a better 3rd party benchmark for you that retail asking $$ CPO in the mbusa search.
Moving forward to a GLS - there is not a lot of funny/dealer money floating around - inventories tight as planned by MBUSA - "might" be some dealer funny money come up closer to August roll out 2018's

Why would the VW issue hinder MB diesel values?
If anything, a potential emission issue, and subsequent VW-like judgement, might boost short term value, no?

Possibly, however, I don't see it as yet. If the Blutec engine is clean as far as the EPA goes.........why are the new GLS and other Mbenz diesels on hold in the USA?

On the same note, there seem to be a crapload of brand new 2015 Audi Q7 TDI's sitting on dealer lots. I am wondering what the dealers will do with those once the stop-sale order is over. Technically, they are brand new, yet they are 2 year old vehicles with a bad rep... There may be some serious deals to be had, if Audi starts selling them with extended warranties or included maintenance and at good discounts.

The Fed's have not determined the testing guidelines - and anyone waiting ffor 2015 Q7's TDI's to be "released" to have a "good deal" - yeh, those will be released to the crusher ... are you from one of the new/new Smoke-It-It's-Legal states ?

Not really, but I don't feel like arguing. There's a difference b/n the 2.0 TDI's and the 3.0 ones and to their fixes. And no, I'm not from one of those states. Had to answer, because your question and my answer really contributed to the discussion.

Apparently the Feds have determined that Jaguar and many US manufactured diesels meet the guidelines! What's up with the GLS 350?
