"dealer purchased gl450 at auction" showed up in carfax report -

Hello,
I never owned a mercedes and looking to purchase a used gl450, I found a 2013 gl450 at a dealer and reviewed its carfax report. The report showed that the dealer purchased the car at auction and there're no maintenance history records at all, the car is 35,000K miles, So I'm confused and got no experience with the report, any ideas/advices are appreciated. Thanks

On the CarFax report it does say that its quite normal for dealers to buy and sell cars at auction......
Dealers dont go on Autotrader to buy them

Thanks Dreamszalone,

It take a more careful look at its carfax report again, and compared to other carfax reports, it did not show any 10,000 and 20,000 miles maintenance records at all, very strange since this is a lease car originally.

Not all dealers turn in service records to car fax. Mercedes can get you the service records for the car.

GLC300 (GL350-gone)
Carfax omissions cover both good and bad events, buyer beware. it's not full historical disclosure.
Get the full "VMI" from selling MB dealer, assuming it's a CPO car, for complete service history. Get independent third party body shop to inspect for unreported repaid, unless you possess a trained eye.

Be sure to research CPO discount and prepaid Maint timing threads here if you go that route.

Ask the dealer for a copy of the VMI. It'll show all service records. If they cannot......pass on this car.
