Is it time for upgrade?

Hey guys.
I have a 2005 ML500 (W163) that I had for a decade now.
Its my first car passed down by my dad and has been my work (not really work but ikea or heavy costco shopping) truck after I got my daily driver...
I was planning to keep this truck until it hits 1 million miles
but IDK the truck has nothing wrong with it
but
I'm looking at some great deals on 13,14,15 GL's.

How is the GL?
Is it reliable?
Gas mileage?

My ML has been very reliable but the gas mileage is 15 mpg.

Thanks

You didn't say how many miles your ML has on it. If it is paid for and is running great and you only use it for occasional hauling, saving a few MPG for thousands of dollars for a newer model doesn't really make sense. If it was your daily driver, Id say get a newer model.
Good luck

It has 150K miles right now.
I got it 40K 3 years old.
I had many issues when it was around 50K
almost made me selling it but
all the repairs paid back. haha

I dont think it will get you lot of $$$$. The most important is a Gift from Father as first car to his son, and for those very few thousand dollar I wouldnt sell this car as it would be a sentimental car for me. Rest upto you.

If it would have got a whole lot of money why not but for few thousand bucks I would just keep and hang on to it, and anyways its running pretty well.

So it sounds like you should go with your heart. If you want a newer ride, go get one. If the old ML is doing great, I'd keep with it. You won't get much on trade or selling it so if it dies you haven't really lost that much. Then you can go get a newer one.
Cheers!

If you put 110k miles on it in 3 years and still drive 30k+ miles/year, save your money and don't buy a GL. The value of your ML is gone, keep driving it until it dies.

Between the additional gas and hit you are going to take on depreciation buying a GL, you'll spend $40k+ piling on those kind of miles over another 3 years.
